Bangkok’s guest friendly hotels are the most popular accommodations choice for single guys who frequently visit the red light districts. Non guest friendly hotels charge something called a joiner fee which is a minumum of 500THB.
Just like everything in Bangkok there are always budget options for frugal travelers who want quality and value. This is especially true for budget hotels that are guest friendly. So how much is budget exactly? In Bangkok budget rates range from 1400THB to 2000THB (roughly $40 USD to $55 USD). And keep in mind, you don’t have to pay the 500THB joiner fee for taking a guest to your room.
Most people may think budget hotels are far away from the city center, or are rundown and occupied by pimps and heroine addicts. This is not true at all. Take for example Woraburi Sukhumvit Hotel and Resort located in Sukhumvit Soi 4. It’s inside central Bangkok and just 5 minutes walk to Nana Entertainment Plaza, one of the most popular red light districts. It has nice clean rooms and excellent service. The Woraburi even has a nice pool to waste a hot day away. Last I checked it cost 1400THB per night with free buffet breakfast.
Another good example of a budget guest friendly hotel is City Lodge 19 located on Sukhumvit road Soi 19. It cost 1999THB per night and located in a busy part of Sukhumvit road loaded with great bars and clubs. And the city lodge is run by the Amari Group, who manages 4 to 5 star hotels in Asia.
Then there are the Citadines Serviced Apartments to consider. Though it’s deemed an apartment Citadines operates exactly like a hotel with the same services and hospitality such as housekeeping, all for 1900THB per night. Citadines apartments can be found throughout Sukhumvit area.
All of the budget guest friendly hotels I mention here are ideally situated between Nana and Soi Cowboy red light districts. And both of these red light districts are connected through Sukhumvit road and just 8 minutes away from each other barring traffic. However, if you’re courageous enough you can take a moto taxi that will zip you back and forth each way for 20THB.
Finally when booking guest friendly hotels you should be prepared with several other hotel alternatives as many of them always have rooms unavailable. Don’t worry, there are many guest friendly hotels around the area. And book the room for two guests. In most cases it doesn’t cost extra and it’s just an extra safety precaution for a carefree vacation experience.
